The Secure Martingale Dog Collar is designed to prevent your dog from slipping out of their collar. They can also be used to teach your dog not to pull on their lead (since it is suitable for safe and secure lead attachment). These outcomes are possible because of the collar’s unique construction, which tightens around the neck when pressure is applied (either by you or your dog). The martingale collar differs from the full ‘choke collar’ or ‘choke chain’ in that only half the collar tightens under pressure, making the martingale style gentler and safer.
These collars are particularly well suited to dogs who have long narrow heads (such as Greyhounds), but we wouldn’t recommend them for very small or toy sized breeds. We also recommend a level of caution when using this collar, as it (like most training tools) has potential to cause damage if used inappropriately.
BioThane® is a robust and durable coated webbing. It consists of a polyester core coated with polymer plastic. It is made in the USA, third-party tested for safety, and registered to ISO 9001:2015 quality standard.
We use BioThane® for the strapping in all our collars, leads and harnesses because of it's reputable quality and safety - and because it performs in ways that leather, nylon and rope cannot: it won't tear, crumble or peel; it won't cause allergic reactions; it's soft and comfortable to wear; it doesn't absorb water or create smells; and it's super easy to clean and wash.

All hardware in the Secure Dog Collar is made exclusively from stainless steel. This means the collar is extremely robust and suitable for all environmental conditions (including sea swimming).
Yes, the Secure Dog Collar is made from BioThane® strapping and stainless steel hardware - making it ideal for all environmental conditions, including sea water.
BioThane® is fully waterproof, does not absorb water, dries almost instantly and resists mould and mildew. And stainless steel can withstand the corrosive effects of salty sea water. Simply rinse the collar off in warm soapy water after each beach adventure and it'll be good as new.
Yes, the Secure Dog Collar can be personalised with a Scrag Tag, an engraved tag attached directly onto the collar, for an extra $16. Just choose 'Personalise' when you're customising your collar.
The Scrag Tag is both safe and unique in that it does not dangle, snag, jingle or fall off. So you can avoid the annoyance jingling noises and rest easy in the knowledge that your dog's details will always be attached to them!
You can choose to have the tag engraved with any text or number: your dog's name, your phone number, their council registration number, an agility competition number, or a short message such as 'anxious' or 'do not feed'. You can even add a cute graphic.
Choose between a (1) Riveted Scrag Tag - permanently fixed with rivets, with space for two lines of text; or a (1) Slide-On Scrag Tag - attached with a durable plastic sleeve, with space for three lines of text. Tags come in acrylic or T316 stainless steel. A personalised collar is still fully waterproof and stink-proof.

- While BioThane® is a robust material that will withstand strong force, it is not totally chew proof.
- It is your responsibility to determine which product is appropriate for your animal’s size, strength, and activity level.
- To care for your gear, hand rinse with warm water and soap or gentle detergent, then wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
